Run Revolution

Run Revolution is an in-school running and exercise programme that harnesses the accessible movement of running and walking to empower, inspire and equip Kiwi kids (aged 9-13 years) to build a lifelong love of movement and exercise.

It’s designed as a great alternative to traditional “just run round the field” cross country training and can sit nicely alongside a competitive school cross country race.

We supply schools and teachers with lesson plans, in-class videos, resources and materials, and we can even come in and deliver in-person coaching sessions.

  • Three in-class sessions per week with fun relays, challenges and games

  • Run or walk a 3k or 5k by the end of the programme—and have a blast when you do so with a weekly Party Run

  • Printable workbook and worksheets to measure your progress, track your fitness metrics and stay inspired

  • Videos from TempoFit coaches giving you insider tips on how to run faster and enjoy it more

The end result is to get you amped on exercise and running!

2024 Pilot Programme

In 2024, we are conducting a further pilot programme of Run Revolution in Taranaki schools that incorporates a significant science and maths component. Students are given the opportunity to become sports scientists on themselves, develop and test a hypothesis, conduct research as they train in the Run Revolution programme, and present their findings.

If your school is interested in hosting this pilot programme among your students (in Years 5-8), please get in touch

2021/2022 Pilot Study

Run Revolution was launched in 2021 and 2022 with the help of Venture Taranaki’s Curious Minds and Sport Taranaki as we trialled the programme across four Taranaki schools, including 300 kids.

We saw great results with positive improvements across all behavioural and attitudinal metrics and a grand total of ZERO children preferred traditional cross country training over Run Revolution!
